I'm still jetlag from NYC 'high', I really don't want to move on.
Anyway, we stayed at a superlovely neighborhood in Forest Hills-Queens at Mr. Dinar's crib and moved out to Lower East Side-Manhattan at Allesandra & Avanda's apartment on the weekend. I love Forest Hills so much it gave me warm feelings after all the hustle bustle in Manhattan, here I really felt at home no matter how distant it was from Jakarta. On the other side, Hanafiah sister's crib is very strategic and convenient for us-the overly excited and ambitious tourists ;). But the best part of staying overnight at their place was their kindness for showing us around day and night in between their crazily hectic school schedules. Allesandra currently taking pastry courses and Avanda is taking culinary, both are in reputable cooking school in NYC. The sisters are culinary mogul in the making and owner of Goedkoop Restaurant in Jakarta.

Speaking about the neighborhood, my favorites are the West Village and Chelsea in Manhattan and Brooklyn. West Village is very peculiar yet stylish filled with trendy boutiques and cafes, whilst Chelsea is best for the art lover. You can easily find an art warehouses here in Chelsea. Another must visit spots in Chelsea are the Highline and Chelsea Market. Brooklyn is vibrant full of young peoples and I love the mixed cultures here. Please stop by at the Fort Greene Flea Market, where you can find lots of quirky vintage stuffs!
